When I went to camp I found out that I wasn't really a outdoor guy even though I thought I was. Also all the activities took a lot of hard work and guts to do. Furthermore I learned that you don't just need internet to keep you entertained and that you can also have a lot of fun without internet. While I was at camp i have conquered many fears. Like rock climbing, I was always scared of rock climbing because you would have to climb so high but with the help of the instructors I was able to overcome that fear. Also I am a really big chicken when it comes to me climbing on something that is really high like high rope for example. I was really scared but with the help of the people in my group I was able to overcome the fear. I was also in fact our whole cabin was scared to sleep by them selfs on the first night because we kept on thinking of this scary movie called Cabin In The Woods. But we solved that problem by sleeping in pairs. Sure we were a little too old for that but a least we solved that problem. Something that I learned about others was how scared Karan D. was of the dark. Just by looking at him he's a 6 foot giant and he looks like he's not scared of anything but I was wrong. In fact Karan d. was soo scared of the dark that he had to sleep with a night light on. Everyone in our cabin was shocked and were blazing in laughter. My favorite memory I would have to say about camp was when our whole cabin was scared to sleep by them selfs. Compared to all the other cabins our cabin was by far the most biggest chicken group in the whole camp. Some advice that I have for the grade 7s next year is that don't be scared of anything and watch out for the teachers because they will prank you.

I learned that u do have limits for a reason and that reason is to surpass them and create new limits. But I also learned that it is good to be social so that you can learn new things from each other. Another thing i learned is that when you have a big problem but you conquer it with people you trust it makes that problem really small. At camp i conquered my fear of spiders a bit. I conquered it because when a giant spider came in to our cabin all of us worked together to destroy it .I learned that some people are really loud when they sleep. But although you may not sleep because of them they make camp just way more memorable than it was.My favorite memory from camp has to be staying up with your close friends and talking. We talked about everything from how life was going to problems that we had. That just made camp more lightening and it made it more memorable. Advice for the next batch of grade 7 is that test your limits and try to surpass them. but if u cant at least go for that extra step or stride to make it worth it. Also try to make things memorable even if it is trying new food or doing something funny. Just go for it and make your trip worth it. A piece of advice is also to bring a camera so you can at least look at all the things u did and that you have a picture to show what you did.

I got very surprised that jayden didn't go all the way up the monkey retch. My favorite memory is when the teachers pranced all our cabins. My cabin got a kayak it freaked me out.I thought the camp was haunted! Be happy have fun and be safe. Also You have to listen so your instructor.

What did I learn about myself at camp, I learned that if I make a goal and push myself to do it I will accomplish it, also I learned that whatever someone says is not always true because last year I heard some rumors that at night there is always a animal attack there but its isn’t true and I am very happy about that. I conquered my fear of heights a little bit for example in the high ropes course Ms. Camps said I have to go do the high ropes course and I said I wanted to go to the ladder only but Ms. Camps said you have to go 3 loops higher than the ladder and I was kind of mad but after I am happy Ms. Camps forced me to. What surprised me was how fast Maggie did everything and just did it and didn’t think about it .My favourite memory was when all of the teachers pranked us and the boys started to freak out, also one of my other best memory is when Christa and Sahar kept on pranking us like scratching our door and knocking on it and then running away and then we kept on getting scared. Some advice I would like to give to the next grade 7 class is that if someone is knocking on your door or something it is just someone pranking you so no need to freak out and push your limits and get out of your comfort zone because to be honest I regret not going out of my comfort zone.

Over the three days that we had spent in camp, I had one of the best times of my life. I learned new things about myself and others aswell. I learned that I never judge someone by their looks because , who knows, someone can be a whole different person when you get to know them. I also learned that even the nicest guys can swear like a sailor. I learned some personal things too which I am not going to share. The only thing I feared was getting hurt and I did not really get injured besides the minor bruises and little cuts from rock g. My most memorable memory was the prank the teachers pulled on us. Although many (including me) were sad and angry, it was a very funny joke that the teachers and adults did. My advice to the grade sixes is, do not swear when a teacher is around and do not swear at all. Also, just have fun and enjoy he break from school. Camp was the best field trip I have ever been to. The activities were very fun and the food... It was delicious. My cabin group was awesome because everyone in the cabin was and chill and did not be mean to anyone. I hope the future grade sevens have as much fun as we did and have great weather there too. Thank you to all the grade seven teachers for organizing the best field trip ever.

I didn't learn much about myself at camp. I learned that I was really good at archery, and that pork does not taste good. I conquered one big fear that I've had for a very long time and that is quite common; heights. At the high ropes station I started to conquer when I went on the monkey wrench, a completely vertical climb that takes a lot of upper body strength. I realized that heights aren't that scary. And then I completely conquered it at rock climbing, which was a lot of fun. One surprising thing I learned about others are that kids aren't as mature as they seem at school. Many kids are quite messy, and one person in my cabin talked a lot more at camp than at school. The same person was also kind of a neat freak. The first day he swept the cabin! With me, I never have a favourite, just a whole bunch of things tied for first. One of my favourite memories is archery, which I excelled at. Another one was at night. Everybody was still awake talking, and the bathroom door was open. I went down to the edge of my bunk(I was top) and closed it. everybody noticed, and started to talk about ghosts and become scared. Nobody noticed it was me. Two options flashed in my head a) tell everyone it was me, or b) keep quiet and stifle my laughter. I chose b. It was pretty funny, as some people were pretty scared, and someone said the wind closed it! I creeped them out further by making scratching the wood which separated two bunks. My advice for next year's grade seven's is don't talk about pranks, or else the teachers will get you!!!

I learned many things about myself at camp I learned that I could really conquer my fears but also that I am a bit messy. It really wasn't just me that was messy but almost everyone in my cabin. I am very happy that I went to camp because now I m no afraid of heights s much as I was before. My favorite memory bout camp would probably be the "dinner" long with high ropes and canoeing. My advice for the grade sixes next year would probably be to be aware of the pranks and all the insects. be ready to go swimming in the cold water.

Something that I learned about myself during camp is that I don't like to share a cabin with my friends because they don't let you sleep & they're so loud in the morning they also wake up to early, like way before breakfast. A fear that I conquered is high-ropes, when I did high-ropes I didn't really think about anything & I just did it quick at first it was scary, I felt kinda happy after
I completed the bridge thing in high-ropes. Something that surprised me about a certain person in my cabin (Ria G.) she is an early bird, and she goes to sleep really kinda late. & I've also grown to like some people in my cabin group more& we got to know each-other more. My favorite memory at camp is when we were at the first camp fire Elizabeth told me something so funny I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe, & also on the first night my whole cabin was trying to go to sleep except me, Ria G. Elizabeth&Monica, the cabin was silent then I was thinking about what Elizabeth told me about *caillou*, & I just started laughing so loud, then the laughter grew in the cabin then we all started laughing except, Kylla, michelle, heah& ashnah they are so serious. Some advice I have for the grade 7's for next year is, don't pick any serious or bossy people to be in your cabin, & have fun (: !

What I learned is that camping isn’t so bad, there’s a lot of things to do, and there’s more things than being afraid of touching spiders or moss. Like at rock climbing, that scared me a lot.but also is high ropes, even though I saw some people was having fun. But still, I conquered my fear of things such as spiders, bees, and other things. The camp sing along is cool too, like the weird sound the other people made. And something about bananas, alligators, narwhals, It’s funny. And now, the sing alone songs are hard to forget. I heard other people sing it too. I also likes to go canoeing or kayaking. You have to work together to move the canoes or kayaks. It also exercises your muscle as that you have to push very hard to get the boats moving. While canoeing, the instructor led us to a place known to have the aboriginal people painting on there. They told us that it’s for telling people about something like someplace is dangeous etc. Another thing is that the teachers pranked us, but it’s still something happened, else it might even get boring. We also did archery, the instructor told us that we could only get something used to eat lunch if we shot a certain thing in a certain way. But it turned out that we don’t need to worry about it because for lunch, we don’t even need the utensils. And finally, what I learned about other people is that Jayden P can’t swim.

Camp was fun. I learned so much about myself! I didn't know that I could handle heights, cause usually, I'm terrified of heights! But I got over that fear, and I also got over another fear; canoeing and kayaking. Before I came to camp, I was afraid that the boat was going to tip in the middle of the ocean, and then my lifejacket wouldn't work, and I would end up drowning! But, somehow, honestly, I'm amazed, I'm alive! I didn't drown! In fact, kayaking was one of my favourite activities, right up there with high ropes and archery! Usually, big Karen is, well, big, and not exactly the type I expected to be scared. But, boy, did he prove me wrong! From what I heard, he got scared and slept with someone. But, to be honest, it was pretty scary outside, especially with the wolf, so he had pretty good reason to be scared. I had loads of good memories at camp, but if I must narrow it down to one, it was probably when we destroyed that other school (Douglas or something like that) in volleyball. We won twenty one to about 10 or eleven! It was amazing for us and embarrassment for the other school. Ha, they should have quit when it was five to zero! Also, my advice to the next grade 7s; make sure you do the monkey wrench in high ropes, but just a heads up, you will need a LOT of upper body strength. Watch out for the pranks from everyone! Teachers, kids, councillors, stay alert and don't trust anyone! So, that's what I thought of camp.

During our three days at camp I learned many things about my self, for example, I never knew I was that good at activities like Archery, Rock climbing, High ropes, Kayaking, Canoeing, etc. I was proud of my self for doing so well on those things even though I've never done them before. I didn't really conquer any fears, however, during rock climbing I was pretty nervous when I got to the top. I couldn't lean back because the rope was too hard to pull but eventually I got the hang of it. On the way down it was pretty steep and it was difficult leaning back especially on the ledges that were about 3-5 inches wide. I learned a few new things about my friends during the time we spent together in our cabins, however, they weren't really that surprising, but I did surprise myself by communicating with people more then I usually do. I don't have a favourite memory because it's really hard to choose. My favourite memories were hanging out with my friends in and outside the cabins, doing activities, and the prank. My advice for the grade 7's is: Bring a camera (Lots of beautiful sights), Be organized, Bring extra supplies, and don't be scared to try something new whether it's a new activity such as Rock climbing, Archery, High ropes, etc. (The key is to be fast) And make the most out of your trip because camp is a memory you will keep forever.

When I went to camp I found out a lot, the things I learned are that sometimes I could be a bit funny and entertaining, I didn’t need any electronics to have a fun time, I could accomplish things if I focused really hard on it, and that I changed a lot while I was at camp, and camp is really exhausting, also I also learned that I apparently snore really, really, really, loud when I sleep. When I went to camp I actually conquered a little bit of my fears, I was really afraid of heights, since I am unable to swim I am also afraid of water, and I am afraid of spiders which was really bad for me on the last night. The activities we did and events that happened help me conquer a bit of each of these fears, for example, kayaking and canoeing. I was really afraid of kayaking and canoeing but after I was actually in the water it wasn’t as scary, it was actually a lot of fun, I was still afraid of water but the activities were really fun and made me forget about my fears, I even thought that kayaking was better than canoeing even though I’m on my own and not with the rest of my group because I was able to explore the water and go where I felt like going. In rock climbing and high ropes I conquered a bit of my fear of heights, it was a lot of fun but it was still a bit scary, rock climbing really helped me with my fear of heights, during rock climbing I really focused on reaching my destination which was the top and I completely forgot about my fears, I had no problem of going up and I wasn’t much afraid about getting down, it was more fun than scary. On the last night of camp we noticed a spider in our cabin, at first we were really scared but later we began to man up and try to take down the spider, with teamwork, we beat the spider by crushing it with a water bottle, that helped me conquer a bit of my fear of spiders During camp I felt like the best part was getting to spend time with some of your friends in your cabin group, it was a lot of fun goofing around in our cabins, I learned a lot of things about my cabin members, they were all fun to be with, we were all really entertaining and sometimes creepy in a good way. My favorite memories were getting to the top in rock climbing and working together to kill the spider because I allowed me to conquer a bit of my fears. For the next year’s grade 7s I think that everybody should bring a camera because you should keep a lot of your memories in camp and just in case bring some ear plugs if you don’t know whether some of your cabin members snore or not. Also, you should try each activity even if you’re afraid because you might just conquer some of your fears, the activities are fun and you’ll forget about being afraid.

Camp was absolutely the best grade 7 experiences that I have ever seized. I have done things that I have never would imagine myself doing. Specifically, rock climbing, kayaking… basically everything! The camp had an amazing vibe that just made me more active and energetic. I conquered my many of my fears, which took a lot of courage. Honestly, I am an indoors kind of girl. An introvert. So, doing physical activities is way out of the question. Computers are more my thing. But, when I was at camp the thought of updating my Twitter and posting a new picture on Instagram didn’t come to me. Spending time with the people I spend 6 hours of every weekday made me know more about them. It took the interactions that you do online come to life. I discovered many things of myself at camp. All the things I have captured from my eyes didn’t have to be shared from a single shot of a camera. It could just be an experience unneeded to be seen by others. So…. where do I begin?
I faced one of my BIGGEST fears. HEIGHTS. NOTHING sends shivers down my spine other than going on something that is way up in the air. Rock climbing was definitely my scariest experience EVER. Going up and wondering where putting my feet was challenging, but getting down was another subject. I thought I was going to be stuck there. The feeling of leaning back when I am way far off the ground was scary. Lets just say I have some trust issues when it comes onto relying on someone to ensure that I don’t die. TRUST, was something I learned at camp. I finally came down and felt so proud of what I have done. It was the best feeling ever! High ropes were also a similar experience. Going on the bridge was so intimidating. But I was like “YOLO”: p. I knew that I was not going to fall but when the steps on the bridge were wobbling I started to have a little mini heart attack. I eventually accomplished it and that amazing feeling came back again.
My favourite experience was everything! Starting from waking up from in the mornings until the sleepless nights. If I had to choose it would probably be the last night of camp. The last campfire was so entertaining! Watching all the skits were so entertaining and finding out my cabin won was also a bonus! The late night conversations and mini “dance party” was also awesome. The cherry on top of the whole night was seeing that everyone has been “bamboozled” by the teachers and the councilors. My cabin mates and I came to our cabin from our campfire to come and see a kayak in the front of the cabin! It was so funny too see and to be honest… to see all the reactions that everyone had!
I learned a few interesting things the people in my cabin and activity groups. I learned that Anthony is skilled with the bow and arrow! He shot most of the targets right on point! I also learned that Sahar and Mahmoud are particularly afraid of heights, even more than me! I also learned that Karan (not in our class) is like another Spiderman! He flew through the rock-climbing course! I also learned that Divya is one of the most fearless people I have ever seen! I also learned that Ashnah has amazing upper body strength!
I advise for next years Grade 7’s to have fun! Try to soak the memories of camp all in, spend that short of time as wisely as possible. Before you know it will all be over. Try to conquer all your fears. Give all the activities a go! Let your fears slip away and have a blast! Spend those nights talking to your friends. Pull pranks. Sing and dance along to the campfire songs. Have a blast! “I saw so many places within things that I did but with every broken bone I swear I lived.“

What I learned about myself in camp was that I discovered new things when I am outdoors and at the same time having enjoying nature! Camp gave me the opportunity to try new things such as kayaking, rock climbing, archery, etc. At camp I conquered my fear of heights. Like rock climbing, before I went up I said to myself “This doesn’t look too high to climb,” but then when I started climbing I realized that every time I was climbing and holding on to the rocks I was getting higher and higher. But after, when I reached the top I looked down and I said “Whoa! This is really high!” But then my instructor was telling me tips if I am climbing up/down right and stuff so I listened to her and her tips really helped me and I she was very trustworthy. The scariest part of rock climbing was the climbing up part because some parts were very slippery and some people got cuts on their elbows, arms, etc. also the going down part, when going down you had to stand up and lean back a little bit and walk down slowly the reason why I find this scary is because you couldn’t really see what you were stepping on so you had to watch where your stepping. Also high ropes was a little scary because you feel like you’re going to fall! The thing that I learned about others that surprised me was that some of the guys slept in pairs during the night! This really surprised me because it was the GUYS!!! Instead of the girls. My favorite memory from camp was when my cabin mates/friends and I would always sing to One Direction songs but mostly Emily and talk about stuff before we go to bed again mostly Emily. My advice to next year’s Grade 7s is always listen to the instructors.

Fear can be paralyzing, literally, for some people. At camp, there were some who were eager to go up onto the high ropes course and experience the thrill of being thirty feet or so off the ground as well as being ensured that it was safe. But there were some who were so afraid of heights or more specifically, of falling and no matter how much the leaders tried to ensure them that the rope would not break, they simply froze up and unwittingly went up. I on the other hand, was what you call in the middle. Anyway, the thing was I wanted to go up and was so excited, until Josh went up. That’s when I began to second guess myself. He was the first one to go up onto the long ladder bridge and he had gone up the small ladder at the bottom to climb the tree and began freaking out. So then we all began to cheer him on and we all pushed him to challenge himself. He eventually got to the end and down. After a few more people it was my turn to go up. At first I thought about Josh’s experience on the ladder but then I just can’t recall something got into me (not literally), I got up and just RAN across the bridge wasting no time at all. I’d done it!
In terms of learning about others at camp, I was quite shocked as all of us were. Karan Dhanoa and Hartej slept TOGETHER in one bunk. Who knew that the two largest guys at camp are scared of the dark? And this came through very clear as Karan was also said to have been kissing Hartej’s hand. Another surprising fact is that they weren’t the only ones. There was also Gurvir alongside Navraj P. and the rumor about Josh and his other two friends in another single bunk is another story. Moving along, I also learned that Kippy really needs her cousin Amraj. I wasn’t there to witness up-close but was there to laugh during the teachers campfire skit. And above all, I learned together with my cabin group what Yi meant to all of us. I know it may sound a bit cheesy but I mean words cannot describe what she destined to us. Firstly, she killed a large spider and who knows what would have happened if she had not done so. And on the second night (last night there) we all were screaming in fear as there was a moth in our cabin and then out of nowhere Yi jumps up onto the top bunk and is standing just a few centimeters away from the moth and is trying to reach for it with her fingers. We stop her as you can never be too sure it can’t harm you and so we give some paper to her and she kills it. This may seem a bit cruel to you, but come on who would want to sleep in a cabin with a moth flying around?
This whole experience at camp has really opened me to the outdoors. For example, at home when I see a spider I shiver and squirm, my heart rate increases rapidly, and my senses sharpened or redirected. But at camp it felt so normal and I didn’t mind it at all. Like in my cabin I saw a baby spider in the washroom and I didn’t do the “freaky freak.” Instead I got a broom and “smashed it!” To rephrase, I had said it had opened me to the outdoors, not that I was fully open and comfortable to stay. As well, it really allowed my love for the great old waters strengthen. To cut to the chase, I very much wanted to go onto it and really enjoy. But yet again I was just the tiniest bit afraid to do so. For one, the water was a tad too much on the colder side of things and I know I had a lifejacket on and if I did tip over I’d be assisted in under a minute or two at most. Even though this is so I kind of feel that life is just too short and on the other hand I feel that life is short and so we should make the most of it.
Lastly, for of the next year’s grade 7’s I have a few pieces of advice. One, Camp Jubilee is awesome and you definitely need to go. But with going comes a few responsibilities. To start off, take care of your personal belongings. Secondly, you should most currently listen to the camp councilors. Next, not to name any names, but just a life lesson in general “If you can’t say something to the person’s face then don’t say it at all. But if you have to tell your friends for whatever reason just make sure that that person or teachers aren’t around.” And before I forget be aware the teachers will prank you like they got us this year. And you got a give it to them it was kind of amusing to see some of the guys complain and get angry. Over-react much! But you know what, as a great speaker once said, “You may fear heights, or spiders, or new situations, or rejection–whatever your fears may be, you can either let those fears form boundaries beyond which you can’t move or grow, or you can face them head-on and allow them to become opportunities to move into new places in your life. The choice is truly yours. Camp is just one of those places where it’s okay to be afraid but yet face fears and come out of your comfort zone to conquer. My f

I learned that I am really good at rock climbing, I never thought I would be good at it. Something I also learned, is how to be organized in a way with other people. The fears I conquered was heights. Myself i was always scared of heights I could never go up and look down. As soon as we did things with heights I wanted to be the first because I was trying to conquer my fear of heights. The first activity that we did, (which included heights) was called high ropes. The obstacle of the activity was to go up to the highest point using all your energy. Another way was by going the furthest that took energy by going right and you had to go to the farthest point. The first I did was farthest point. It wasn't that hard. The hard one was highest point because that took up so much upper energy! What I learned about other people was stories. In the cabin everyone told each other stories which was fun. My favourite memory would be Kayaking. I love being on water and I love to be on water when you are going fast. The reason why i like kayaking so much because I made Navraj.G do all the work, his reactions were so funny. My favourite part about the kayaking was when we paddled so fast that we wore the fastest pair on the kayak. But then we had a race with Josh (leader). He was by his self but he still beat us! We called each other the 3rd fastest instead of the 1st. There was also another leader in the water named Christy and it obvious she is faster than us. The advice I would give is to bring a camera. For some people this might be and once in a lifetime experience and taking photos would give you back memories of when you were grade 7. Instead of trying to remember in your head, you might end up forgetting. Be organized when you are in your cabin. Don't mess up your bag. When you are packing it will be so much easier if you are organized instead of being messy. Do not bring food at all I think someone brought food in another cabin and a big spider came in. The kids in that cabin were screaming! The spider was huge! I really enjoyed camp I just wish i could go back there with all my friends from school and just have fun like we did. This was the best field trip in my school years!

Some schools don't get the chance to go to camp, but the grade sevens at coyote creek are lucky to have the privilege to go to camp. I had a lot of fun with all of the awesome activities we did. I learned 2 things about my self at camp. One of them was that I don't need technology all the time to entertain myself and have fun, I can just simply go outside and have fun with all sorts of games and activities. The second thing I learned was to try things, though they may be slightly scary. This mostly refers to to high ropes, the ropes were 20 to 30 ft in the air! But I learned to at least try it, and it turned out really fun! That leads me to the next question: did you conquer any fears? Yes, I did. Originally, I was a little scared of going 30 ft in the air by myself, but with the help of the staff, I conquered my little fear. Another little fear i had was of spiders, though I didn't conquer that fear, and I probably never will, it did weaken that fear, thankfully.I learned to get along and cooperate a little more and trust others, especially during kayaking where we both had to work to make the kayak go. I also learned that some people in my cabin like to go to sleep very, very late. Another thing that surprised me was how brave one of my cabin members were, there was a moth in our room and she crushed it! Literally! Honestly, the whole experience of camp is going to be in my mind forever. I had a blast and it was an amazing experience and I would like to go again. But if I had to choose one memory, it would be when the teachers pranked all of the cabins! They got everyone so good, they even put a kayak in one of the cabins! I was so surprised. Another thing I won't for get was how the boys in a cabin all slept in pairs! We all had a great laugh at that! Some advice I would give to the grade 6's is that next year when they go to camp, they better be aware of the teachers because they are such pranksters:). Oh and also bring bug spray. :D thank you teachers for a great experience.
